I don’t think of myself as a different person than I was 3 years ago, because in the ways that matter to me (zest for life, sense of adventure, travel dreams) nothing has changed.
Often, however, I do notice a difference in the way people treat me, and honestly, the fact that my body, then and now, is how I have been/am judged by those who don’t know me, well this makes me really sad.
3 years ago my black clothing was 5 sizes larger than what I wear today. But my haircut, and my smile, are exactly the same.
The haircut is what it is, but the smile is what’s important.
It’s my prayer that each of us see the beauty that has nothing to do with the numbers. For ourselves and those around us. Every day.
